Let's take a closer look at the two NASA astronauts that will be participating in US Space Walk 96... as well as the support team.
And It will be Jessica Meir that will serve as EV1 and Anil Menon, the Flight Engineer aboard ISS, as EV2.
And throughout today's spacewalk we will be able to identify the two of them as Meir will have the red stripes, as you can see at the bottom corner of her portrait.. and Anil Menon will have no stripes on his spacesuit.
Taking a look at their career stats for spacewalks...
For Jessica Meir, it has been a busy time for her aboard ISS, especially this most recent expedition from 74 to 75. This will be her third run of her current time aboard space station and sixth overall, previously conducting five spacewalks totaling 36 hours and 6 minutes.
Her most recent spacewalk was back at the end of June for Spacewalk 95...
Note: The primary goal of Spacewalk 96 is to prepare the station's 3B power channel for the future installation of a 7th International Space Station Roll-Out Solar Array (iROSA) later this year. This hardware upgrade will boost electrical power to support scientific operations and prep for the station's eventual controlled deorbit.
