Operation Cue was the name given the Nevada Test in May of 1955.
Designed to explore the effects of small nuclear weapons on buildings, towers and equipment of many kinds.
For approximately 1 mile from ground zero... with a 20 Mt blast... these targets would probably be obliterated and comparable damage would occur to at least out to 8 or 9 miles.
Therefore, while Operation Cue was valuable for research and test purposes.... it does not reflect the full severity of today's larger thermonuclear weapons with associated fallout hazard.
