Today, i finally test the drive train. Turns out this shocking test (heh, heh) revealed the motors work. Sorta. There is an issue to delve into, but I might ignore the fail and just go straight from frying motor to new motors and gear boxes for increased power. This is a POWER wheels jeep, after all.

WARNING: This videos contains graphic use of mathematics and formulae. Yeah, Formulae. I use the latin plural because i'm a nerd. Sue me.

I use an eastwood mig 175 220v welder with .030 wire and standard 75/25 shielding gas. It is the only welder i've ever tried, I couldn't tell you how it compares to other welders. I barely know which end shoots the sparks.

$How to Make a Fire Brick Metal Foundry Furnace, Part 1: Cutting the Bricks Today Im building a better foundry. I use insulating fire bricks, some paper, a simple saw and a block of wood to shape it all. Next time Ill build an enclosure (as opposed to shelling out lots of money for a keg. Im not made of money) out of sheet steel and apply mortar and a coating, made from satanite. Then its time to start melting metal! This is intended for use with a burner, such as propane or oil. This replaces my old furnace which I build in the video how to build a better mini metal foundry, published months ago. That furnace, based on grant Thomsons mini metal foundry, used castable refractory cement instead of plaster and sand. It is still holding up, but insulating fire brick insulates better.
