Artificial Intelligence, General AI, and the hopes and promises for the future, are discussed by educators Sarina Farb and Aaron Wissner. The discussion begins with Aaron sharing the twelve futures as presented by Max Tegmark in his book Life 3.0. Sarina quickly rejects the concept of a techno-utopias and benefits of AI, and turns the conversation in the direction of restoration and resilience, including a discussion of population, carrying capacity, environmental degradation, overshoot, collapse, and undershoot. From there, they discuss human nature, the history of culture, permaculture and how there can be something so much better beyond civilization. Finally, around the 100 minute mark, Aaron presents Sarina with a list of fifty authors to react to, which concludes with a story of Sarina's first meeting with Jane Goodall.

Sarina has already worn many hats in her time in her quarter-century on this planet, but no matter what hat she is currently wearing she is always using her skills to advocate for a peaceful, just, and sustainable world for all beings. Having been born and raised vegan in Kansas, she has a lifetime of experience speaking and advocating for veganism, climate justice, and sustainable plant-based living.
Sarina began her science career while still in high school when she conducted her own own molecular biology research project. Her research won her numerous awards, including being a finalist in the National BioGENEius challenge and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Sarina went on to attend Grinnell College where she earned degrees in biochemistry and policy studies.
Sarina currently teaches high school chemistry and environmental science in Kansas City. She also serves on the Plant-Based Network advisory committee, is a member of the American Vegan Society Speakers Bureau, and writes and creates educational content on her website and youtube channel Born Vegan.
