On a gloomy spring morning, various military equipment on flat cars heads west on the Norfolk Southern Harrisburg Line from Morrisville, Pennsylvania bound for Fort Pickett, Virginia. This train, NS 056, was one of three movements of around 700 military vehicles of the New Jersey Army National Guard’s 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team as part of a large-scale deployment and training exercise.

On October 16, 2016, the last day of the Autumn Leaf excursions for the year, R&N 425 debuts with an 8 car consist without a diesel in tow. I decided to break out the 4K mode on the AX100, having only enough time to chase the return trip home from Jim Thorpe. Despite not having a diesel, 425 moved right along with the shortened consist, making a rather hasty pace over Hometown Hill, gliding right on down the other side to Port Clinton. Shot at Nesquehoning, Hometown Hill, Quakake, and Molino. Thanks for watching!
