The final video of Trains on the Norfolk Southern Reading Line takes place during the fall months of 2015, shot between Reading and Allentown, Pennsylvania. Train descriptions, and the time they appear in the video are listed below.

10/18/15 - 38G eases down the single "Low Grade" main, passing the Blue Mountain & Reading Station at Temple on its westbound approach to Reading, where it will then swing back east toward South Jersey. There was quite a colorful locomotive consist, including a patched Chicago & Northwestern unit and a switcher for Carney's Point, NJ.

Early morning hotshot 20E and the fresh cut cornfields catch the bright morning sun at the 22 searchlight signal just west of Alburtis. The lead C40-8 only had a few months left of service before being retired.

Later that morning, H68 has just departed Allentown Yard, getting a good climb on the hill at MP 31 with some beautiful fall foliage in the backdrop. The rolling stock on this train can be an interesting mix, bound for Reading Yard, most cars will interchange to the Reading & Northern Railroad or NS locals.

In a rather unusual move, 33A ran in the morning (usually ran afternoons at that time) with a full EMD consist. While wasn't rare to see solid standard cabs on this train, SD45-2's rarely lead trains on the road, as most of their service is bound to CSAO locals in North Jersey; however, after being serviced at Enola, NS 1701 leads the train!

Later that morning 65K ethanol empties head west through the searchlights at Deka Road with some fall color locomotives matching the foliage. The SD40E is purely for cab signal compatibility west of Harrisburg, PA.

With only about two weeks left of service, eastbound Roadrailer passes Milepost RV 10, and would be the last ever Triple Crown seen by me on this line.

A second section of 19G takes the siding at West Laurel. The original Reading G-type signals have since been replaced for PTC upgrades.

Later that afternoon we find, ourselves in Topton overlooking the vast stretches of farmland that the Reading Line passes directly through.

Now in the month November, the last bits of foliage cling to the trees. Another beautiful, clear morning is greeted by the sound of a distant K5LLA horn, belonging to the New York Central Heritage Unit. This scene is on the same lane as seen in the overlook shot of 16N...since this is a private lane, permission should be granted before going track level.
