In this video, we take a look at the monument to Mike the headless chicken in Fruta Colorado. Fruta Colorado is a small town in eastern Colorado on interstate 70, and the most famous resident in Fruta town history is a headless chicken named Mike. Mike the headless chicken was decapitated in 1945, and then continued to live for another 18 months with no head. There is a statue of Mike the headless chicken on the main street in Fruita, Colorado, and every May they have a Mike the headless chicken festival to celebrate the legacy of Mike the headless chicken.
