Here’s a quick look at the Peugeot Tourmalet road racing bike from the 1980s that I converted into the perfect beach cruiser. If you’re considering turning a vintage road racing bike into a beach cruiser or a gravel bike, ideally look for a frame with horizontal dropouts that allow the wheel to move back far enough to fit a larger tire. This Peugeot Tourmalet road racing bike originally came with 700 x 20C tires, but if I move the wheel all the way back, it comfortably fits a 35C tire, which is very comfortable to ride on the road. I also added a very comfortable seat as well made by Selle Royale.  if you’re considering restoring a vintage road racing bike, I hope this video gives you some ideas.
