Brethren Voices, now in its 22nd year of sharing the stories of Peace and Justice for All, features a concert by Micheal Stern.
Mike Stern, a Washington native, is a composer, folksinger and inspirational speaker who provides creative leadership for professional conferences, retreats, worship services and children’s programs.
According to, David Horsey, the Pulitzer Prize winning columnist, “Michael Stern’s music is an anthem for an America as it should be – a reminder that peace and justice should be our highest moral values.
In support of the World Friendship Center of Hiroshima Japan, the concert program features the theme music, one of Mike’s creations, “As If The Flowers Knew.” The song was originally performed in Hiroshima, the place of Ground Zero, where the first nuclear bomb was detonated during World War II. Now, it’s the Home of the World Friendship Center which was created to educate visitors about the horrors of nuclear war, advocating for a nuclear free world.
