Middle Fork Trail follows Lytle Creek up a dramatic canyon in the Cucamonga Wilderness, ending at Icehouse Saddle. The route passes through Yosemite-like granite terrain and reaches a hidden waterfall along the way. This is a long day hike with significant elevation gain through remote backcountry. Check conditions before going since the trail crosses the creek multiple times and can be impassable after heavy rain or snowmelt. Permits are required for wilderness entry and parking at the trailhead fills early on weekends.
