(Rated G) It's the end of a season and you know what that means, it's time for another clip show! This one's not nearly as good as many of my past ones, but frankly, I don't have the passion for creating great clip shows anymore, mostly because only 2% of you even watch them. And I'm running out of questions to answer. But fear not, I'm sure I'll get more questions over the next few months!
Q: Did you meet your goals for the year?
A: Subscriber and view goals, yes. Microwave goals, no. When this year began, I was projecting 4000 subscribers by the end of the year, maybe 5000 if I'm lucky, and I have over 6000 now. I also had wanted to surpass 750K views and have a video hit 100K views. I pretty much DOUBLED that. As of now, I have 1.4 million views, the lava lamp video soared to over 200K views out of nowhere, when the year began it was the silverware video that was by far my most viewed, it now is closing in on 100K, and most importantly, I'm now averaging over 1000 views per video (unless I upload a vlog video that is). I didn't meet all of my microwave goals, though. I didn't do bullets, thermite, WD-40, or an airbag, but I did do a dry ice bomb, a smaller microwave, a spinning firework, and a can of bug spray.
Q: When will you microwave Elmo?
A: Season 16.
Q: Seriously, WHEN WILL YOU MICROWAVE ELMO?!
A: I told you, season 16! I know I've been promising and putting off the nuking of potty time Elmo but no more excuses. Elmo will fry in early 2016, count on it! It'll likely be the second or third episode.
Q: Why don't you clean your microwaves more often?
A: I do but there's a point where it becomes impossible to clean.
Q: Any plans for the 500th episode?
A: Right now I'm looking at doing an airbag. As that's a very big type of project, I may actually film this well in advance and air it in the summer or fall. I'm going to start planning it next month.
Q: Are any of your old shows coming back?
A: "Will It Flush?" is NOT coming back, sorry. But I might bring back "Does It Blend?" but in a modified format. It won't be a direct rip off parody of "Will It Blend?" but it'll involve doing stuff to blenders you never thought possible. Or something like that. I don't know yet.
Q: Are you ever going to give a negative review in your new series?
A: Yes. I already planned out who it is I'm going to give the negative review to, but it won't be as negative as some people are hoping it will be. For the mean time, though, I'll be giving positive reviews.
Q: Do you plan on ever doing things like tag videos?
A: No, mostly because I'm not very good with answering these on the spot but I'm also not a fan of jump cuts and try to minimize them. If I do a bad take when filming an introduction, I'll often do it over. Notice in my microwave videos, rarely are there more than 3 or 4 jump cuts in the entire video. But I may do one in the future.
Q: You like filming astronomical events, so why don't you do more?
A: The weather rarely cooperates. Pennsylvania has a borderline maritime climate, which means that it rains quite a lot, giving me few opportunities to actually film something worthwhile.
Q: Are you going to quit microwaving after you do episode 500?
A: No. I'll go into a reduced format, however, so I can focus on other things. But I'll be doing microwave videos for years to come.
