Experiment #465: 35w Low-Pressure Sodium Light Bulb
(Rated G) For this experiment involving yet another light bulb, I'm microwaving a 35-watt low-pressure sodium bulb. You'e seen tons of light bulbs, but I guarantee you've never seen anyone microwave one of these light bulbs. Unlike most of the light bulbs microwaved on my show, this one is actually unsafe because of how it cracked the plate after subtly splitting open despite not being a broken bulb creating copious amounts of plasma. This may also be the coolest bulb I've done. I'd like to thank IAmNotAFunGuy for suggesting this really weird and unique idea that had never been done before, this giant light bulb ended up being the best light bulb I've ever done. It flashed every color of the rainbow while glowing brighter through the experiment and eventually settling on an orange yellow that is completely different from the other street light bulbs I did, which were often shades of blues, greens, whites, and purples. By the end the bulb was still glowing brilliantly despite the outer case being compromised. I expected something similar to the high pressure sodium bulb but this light bulb if anything was like the single watt neon flicker flame bulb, but better. This may be my favorite that I've done so far, which shows that microwaving a light bulb if you can get a unique bulb is not necessarily a mundane or repetitive idea. I'm honestly surprised that dOvetastic or JPizzle1122 (AKA Jogwheel) never did one of these, especially dOvetastic given all the light bulbs he's done over the years. But it feels so good to be first. Microwave Me is currently in its 17th season of production and is now the second longest continually running microwave show on YouTube, while being filmed in crystal clear 1080p for the best quality and as always stars Captain Microwave stars as the show's host and producer, who for this episode uses a 1200-watt Emerson microwave he named Sammie after beautiful and talented Norwegian singer and vlogger Sandra Meland.
