Experiment #453: Artichoke
(Rated G) Why do I continue to microwave items from the produce section? Microwaving an artichoke turned out to be pretty lame. I shouldn't have to say this but this video isn't about teaching you how to cook an artichoke in a microwave, it's a science video in which I try to blow up an artichoke by microwaving it. Although it might as well have been a cooking video and I probably should have just done it in my kitchen microwave because all it did was cook. I was hoping it would at least sort of blow up. At least I cut out most of the time spent microwaving so at least you won't be suffering through nearly 10 minutes of an artichoke just sitting there spinning around, cooking, like I had to. Finding produce items that do something cool when microwaved is surprisingly tricky. I have lucked out from time to time, though, like with the exploding cherry tomatoes and the grape. The spaghetti squash exploding was cool, too. Microwave Me, now in its 16th season is now the second longest continually running microwave show on YouTube, while being filmed in 1080p for the best quality and as always stars Captain Microwave as the show's host and producer, who for this episode uses a 600-watt Proctor-Silex microwave.
