Xbox is reportedly losing around $150 on every Xbox Series X|S console sold right now (even after the price hike).
That's... not good. I wonder if Sony and Nintendo are facing similar.
Xbox Helix and Steam — and why it no longer makes sense
• Affordability and the “memory crisis” (RAMpocalypse)
• PlayStation has decided to stop releasing its single-player games on Steam.
• Roughly 75% of Ally owners subscribe to Game Pass.
• Among non-subscribers, attach rates to the Xbox PC store are poor: about 25% if they already own an Xbox console, but only 2% if they do not.
• New users essentially treat the device as a Steam box. Exclusive leaked data from us suggests a huge amount of Xbox "Helix" users could simply ditch Xbox for Steam, inside Xbox's own hardware. Unsurprisingly, while Microsoft as a whole beat forecasts and recorded its strongest year yet, with revenue rising 18% to more than $331 billion and operating income increasing 21% to more than $155 billion, Xbox's decline continued.

Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood informed investors that Xbox revenue fell by 10%, with a 11% decline when adjusted for constant currency. Revenue from Xbox content and services also dropped by 10% compared to the previous year, which had benefited from strong first-party content performance (including the launch of DOOM: The Dark Ages and ports such as the massively successful PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5). The segment's gross margin dollars decreased by 2%, while the gross margin percentage improved year-over-year, driven by reduced amortization costs from the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Operating expenses rose by 8% (7% in constant currency), primarily due to ongoing investments in shared R&D and impairment charges related to Xbox. Operating income declined by 14% (15% in constant currency), with operating margins decreasing year-over-year to 21%. In the immediate future, things don't exactly look rosy, either. Perhaps more interesting than the financials is the brief statement shared by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella:

About This Game
An all-new entry in the Onimusha series!
Fight through bloodstained battlefields of intense swordplay action. Explore the historic Japanese capital of Edo-period Kyoto, twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice.
With every stage cloaked in mystery, danger and intrigue. Battle against monstrosities from the underworld known as Genma in a tale of dark fantasy.
Follow the tale of a samurai who wields the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artifact that grants its bearer the power to slay Genma.
Through gritty, blood-soaked brawls, he searches for his reason to fight. What fate awaits at the end of his path?
The Protagonist, Miyamoto Musashi
An ardent samurai who arrives in Kyoto looking to prove that he is unmatched in the way of the sword. However, the path before him takes a strange and unexpected turn.
The protagonist of this game is a fierce young samurai, constantly moving from one bloody and gritty fight to the next. To cement this image of a striking samurai, Capcom has turned to none other than the late, iconic Japanese samurai movie legend Toshiro Mifune to star as the face model for this rendition of Miyamoto Musashi.
Action
Equipped with an Oni Gauntlet, Musashi is granted power beyond human limits. Besides giving him the strength needed to cut down the Genma, it also holds numerous other abilities, such as being able to absorb Genma souls and convert them into a power source to further enhance its wearer. But who is behind the voice that rings out from the gauntlet?
Genma
Usually found dwelling in the lowest depths of hell, the Malice enveloping Kyoto has brought these fiends into the world of the living. Their ceaseless atrocities have plunged the capital into a state of dread and panic.
Formidable Foes After two decades, Capcom has returned with a new major installment in the Onimusha series. Onimusha: Way of the Sword aims to rekindle the interest of longtime fans while introducing the series to a new generation of players.
In his battle against the Genma threat, Musashi will face powerful opponents whose martial prowess rivals his own. Will he triumph, or die trying? Bloody duels to the death await in the capital.
Setting
Onimusha: Way of the Sword (鬼武者 Way of the Sword) is an upcoming action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom. As the first mainline installment in the Onimusha series since Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (2006), the game is set to be released on September 4, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
Gameplay
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is an action-adventure video game played from a third-person perspective. The game follows a samurai named Miyamoto Musashi (modeled after Toshiro Mifune), as he explores a dark fantasy version of Kyoto during the Edo period and combats rival swordsmen, demons and other supernatural threats.[2] Musashis primary weapon of choice is a sword, which can be used to strike enemies, parry their attack, or deflect incoming projectiles. A prolonged parry allows Musashi to steer his enemy, causing them to fall towards a certain direction.[3] Musashi can also enter a guard stance, which blocks attacks from all directions.[4] Striking and parrying will deplete an opponents stamina, allowing players to use Break Issen, a move which instantly executes an enemy by dismembering them. Performing consecutive parries or dodges grants Musashi combat buffs, enabling him to swiftly execute enemies in succession or unleash a multi-hit attack, respectively.[5] He can also use the environment to his advantage, such as flipping a table and using it as a temporary shield.[
The game is set in Kyoto, home to countless shrines and temples, such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Twisted by Malice, the face of the capital starts to take on an eerie and foreboding appearance My BRUTALLY Honest Review of Onimusha Way of the Sword!
