Learn more about microgreens: university.upstartfarmers.com/blog/tag/microgreens
Here at Bright Agrotech, we're trying out several microgreen crops to learn about seed density, yield, and other growing considerations. In this trial, we measured yield at different seed densities and lengths of time.
Here's what we found for the greatest yield:
Kale: 1 lb for 1.3 oz seeds at 12 days
Radish: Over 2 lbs for 2.5 oz seeds at 12 days
Red rain: 1 lb for 0.9 seeds at 12 days
Here's what we found were the most productive seed densities: (the highest yield relative to input)
Kale 0.5 oz seeds at 10 days
Radish 1.0 oz seeds at 12 days
Red rain 0.5 oz seeds at 12 days
Seed density is ounces per 10X20" tray. We're growing on hemp mats in both a propagation chamber and flood trays - see the Intro video for more info on our setup!
Next, we're testing Persian cress, black oil sunflowers, and red cabbage. Stay tuned for more info!
