This micro-credential has been designed for healthcare professionals working in maternity care settings, women’s health clinics, or general practice, who have regular contact with individuals in the perinatal period or those working in specialist perinatal mental health services. Up to 30% of women who go through maternity services in any one year will experience birth from a psychological point of view as traumatic. This course aims to equip health professionals to understand, assess and support this trauma in their care settings.
