As part of Logistics Skills Week 2026 and European Supply Chain Day 2026, E3 were delighted to welcome Qian Li and Michael Power from Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail).
With over 20 years of public procurement experience, Qian holds an EMBA and an Advanced Diploma in Public Procurement Law. She leads sustainable procurement initiatives within Irish Rail and works closely with suppliers to strengthen and improve their sustainability practices across the supply chain. In addition to her professional work, Qian is the founder and chair of the Loveactually Charity.
Michael Power is Head of Transformation with Iarnród Éireann - Irish Rail. Leading on strategy development for the company he is working with colleagues and stakeholders on delivering an ambitious vision for rail as the backbone of a sustainable transport system for a growing Ireland, for both passengers and freight. With over 30 years’ experience in public transport, initially at Dublin Bus and then Iarnród Éireann, he has worked across a variety of roles that include strategic planning, organisation development, operations and contracts management.
In this presentation, “Keeping Ireland Moving: Inside Irish Rail’s Operations and Future Vision,” Qian shared insights into the operations that keep Ireland’s rail network running every day, as well as the innovations and sustainability initiatives shaping the future of rail transport. Michael focus on Iarnród Éireann's vision and strategy.
