I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Still catching up on videos, and trying to get back to a once-a-month cadence. I was obsessed with the Batwing when Batman '89 cam out. I had the toys, I had the t-shirts, I had the lunchbox. My dad and I even made a control-line version powered by a Cox 0.49. Now I have an RC one, and 1990s me would be very happy with it 😎 I used an old AMT plastic model as the form to make a light weight shell, and the electronics out of the efliterc Ultrix. The wing shape is directly traced from the kit, and made out of FliteTest foamboard with the paper removed. Paint is Tamiya rattle cans, with gold Sharpie used for the canopy. It flies very similarly to the stock Ultrix, it's got a bit less wing area, but comes in a few grams lighter at 60 grams.

As with all my builds, this is strictly for fun. I do not intend to sell any sort of kit based on this project, although I will be glad to answer questions about the build, and help anyone who is interested create their own. Do not upload my content as your own, and please provide proper attribution if you are sharing it. RC models are not toys. Build and operate at your own risk and in accordance with your local regulations. Fly smart, fly safe.
