I've been falling behind on hobby stuff recently, but managed to get this project finished up over the holiday break. A few years ago, I built a little Y-Wing in the same scale I had made the T-70, A-wing, and speeder. It flew OK, but always felt like an unfinished project. In the years since, I've moved most of my builds to a bit bigger size, and felt that the Y-Wing deserved that treatment. The build follows my usual component selection, 450 race quad motors on 5-inch props setup to run differential thrust, elevons on 9g servos, and built out of 6mm foam. This bigger version flies A LOT better than the little one did, and is proving to be one of the easiest to fly Star Wars ships I've designed so far.
As with all my builds, this is strictly for fun. I do not intend to sell any sort of kit based on this project, although I will be glad to answer questions about the build, and help anyone who is interested create their own. Do not upload my content as your own, and please provide proper attribution if you are sharing it. RC planes are not toys. Build and fly at your own risk and in accordance with your local regulations. Fly smart, fly safe.
