The 50-year-old star was known throughout the world for albums such as 'Thriller' (1982) and 'Bad' (1987).
In his later years, Jackson built a connection with Cork, which he visited in 2006 and liked so much he returned the following year, hiring out the 22-bedroom Ballinacurra House in Kinsale while he searched for a home to buy. Owner of Ballinacurra House, Des McGahan, recalls Jackson's visit.
