Finally found some time at year's end to play a hidden game mode that has no leaderboard on SRC (or RetroAchievements, but do correct me if I'm wrong). That said, it does have a category of community achievements in the MGTT Netplay server.
To access the Hole-in-One Contest (essentially just Near-Pin but for the regulation courses), hold Z at the title screen and then continue and select the new Contests window.
This was my former best four-hole total for Bowser Badlands from Back Tees within a short session. Waluigi's power is very helpful here; holes 7 and 11 really suck. I did improve on this with a wild Diddy Kong run.
