Members of the Mevlevi Sufi Order, a mystical arm of Islam based in Turkey, believe that performing the Sema Ceremony allows a person to eliminate bad habits, cleanse his soul, and express his love for God. More commonly known as the Whirling Dervishes, Sufis who perform this spiritual journey believe that the soul is cleansed by, becomes mature, and attains unity with God during the ritual. Afterward, the soul returns to its life and serves humankind again. This performance was held in a meeting room at the central railroad station in Istanbul, before a small audience.
