What are hyperagents, egregores, organizations, and distributed intelligences really? Layman and I try to make sense of this together, and see if these things are intellectual nonsense, poorly understood fantasy, or sometimes emergent, sometimes intergenerational higher order beings that affect our agency for better or worse.
We discuss this from many topics related to this from cultural narratives, secret societies, processes of breakdown, historically useful tools, and more!
My biggest takeaway after our talk was we can gain and lose agency by participating in attractive groups, and need to learn signs of positive, neutral, and harmful sources of group participation. If we can have Pax Romana, European and American Renaissances, and create monuments like Stonehenge or the Space Station, here is historical precedent in the midst of so much tragedy and mis-information.
