After taking a break for a while, we are back with our run through the Metal Slug Anthology. We play the fourth game in the series, where the Regular Army face a new menace. A organization known as Amadeus threatens to launch a cyber attack capable of destroying any nation's military system. With Eri and Tarma out in their own assignments in the matter, Marco and Fio are selected to fight the enemy along with the two newcomers, Nadia Cassel and Trevor Spacey. MS4 is the weakest game of the series in my opinion. It reuses alot stuff from the previous games while bringing less new content to the series, which is bad compared to how much 2/X and 3 added to the series. Also removing Eri and Tarma to introduce Trevor and Nadia was a bad choice, so much that is was reverted in MS5. And while was good to introduce a new enemy to fight besides Morden and his army, Amadeus reused soldiers from the Rebel Army, which kills the idea of fighting a new threat and feels like you are fight your old enemies. Even though being rushed and incomplete, MS5 still managed to deliver a better game than 4 for me. Despite that though, I did a better run here than MS3, though not close to good as the other games we covered so far. Let's how we do it in MS5, which we be covering by the end of September.
