Carls493 | Metal Gear Solid: Opening & Title Screen @Carls493 | Uploaded September 2024 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
One reason I finally played Metal Gear 1 & 2 is so that I would finally take in all the context that I needed to understand more about this very important game.
This game wasn't just crucial to the popularity of Hideo Kojima and the franchise itself, but to video games as a whole.
-----------
Here's the opening.
Solid Snake has been re-summoned for a 3rd mission. This one taking place on Shadow Moses Island, located somewhere in Alaska, where he was trying to retire to.
His commanding officer for this mission is the same one from the previous mission at Zanzibar Land: Colonel Roy Campbell.
Together, both Roy & Snake no longer work at FOXHOUND. Following their departure, a new group has taken over the black-ops unit and transformed it into a terrorist organization.
Following Snake's kill against Big Boss in Zanzibar Land, this new FOXHOUND demands that the government gives them Big Boss' remains, or they threaten to launch a nuke.
Snake's missions are to rescue DARPA Chief Donald Anderson & ArmsTech President Kenneth Baker. He must also see if this new terrorist FOXHOUND can actually launch a nuke, and stop them if they can.
The new FOXHOUND's top members include.
- Psycho Mantis: Powerful psychic.
- Sniper Wolf: Beautiful sharpshooter.
- Decoy Octopus: Master of disguise.
- Vulcan Raven: Giant shaman.
- Revolver Ocelot: Gunfighter and interrogation specialist.
And they were all being led by a man that shares a codename with Snake. Liquid Snake.
Snake will eventually encounter all of these terrorists and their endless supply of Genome Soldiers for this mission. He will also soon discover that the new FOXHOUND's nuclear threat doesn't just involve a typical bomb, but something much more threatening... And familiar...
