Ho Ho Ho. Vlogmas was fun, I hope you enjoyed my antics. I will take a week or so off and be back in the new year with more videos. I hope this year has shown you an abundance of blessings however you celebrate (or not). I really truly appreciate everyone who takes time out of their day to watch, comment, subscribe etc. Even you lurkers who never comment (commenting more is a GREAT new years resolution)

so you want to hear the sappy stuff. Here goes. I am a stay at home mom. My day is filled with washing the same dishes, folding the same socks and wiping the same nose over and over and over. 5 minutes later the dish is dirty again, the socks are back in the hamper and the same nose needs wiping again. and again. I love my family and my home but it can sometimes feel like I won't ever make a difference in life, or make any progress because essentially I am doing the same things I did yesterday, and last week, and last month. And tomorrow I will do it again. In my brain I know my work is valuable but I always seem to thrive best when I can reach tangible goals or milestones. YouTube helps give me that. I can see how my videos improve. I can see my view counts grow and subscriber counts climbing. I can see the number of published videos building on themselves (now over 600 videos!) I can talk with people who are interested in the things I am passionate about. I can talk about something other than my dang kids (again, I do love my kids, I promise) YouTube gives me a way to share parts of myself that most people don't appreciate or understand, and then strangers on the internet say things like "cool" or "thank you" instead of just looking at me like I have lobsters coming out of my ear. I can share hard realities, happy moments, and pineapple cookie silliness and (for the most part) it is all well received.... by strangers ...on the internet. That is amazing. Thank you for keeping me company in my kitchen. For inspiring me and holding me accountable. For listening to my yammering. Every time you open a video or click the thumbs up or leave a comment you are helping me build something out of nothing. Something grown from just the thoughts inside my head. Something that would not exist without me. Something I can point at and say I made that for no reason other than I wanted to. My Christmas wish is that each of you have something similar in your life. Something fun but challenging, something dynamic, something that soothes the ragged parts, something you can point to and say "that is proof that I matter" Love and best wishes, Katie
