Automatic/periodic set of sensor magnetization and offset measurement …

In the last video we generated magnetic fields, covered the interrupt handling and inhibited measurements on axes (link below). So far we’ve covered all but 5 bits of the status and control registers. Let’s talk about those 5 remaining bits now.
These bits control the automatic and periodic set of the sensors’ magnetization. The datasheet is a bit sparse on the details, so we’ll have to experiment a little. Since I had a little time left, we’ll also measure the AMR Wheatstone bridge offset.

In the previous video we’ve improved the oscillator frequency measurement, determined/verified the axes of the chip and tackled the first two parameters – VIRTUALGAINMIN/-MAX (link below). Now we’ll have a look at the next parameters.
We start with some errata regarding VIRTUALGAINMIN/-MAX. Then we read up on the ORTH_[SEL|XY|B1B2] parameters in the datasheet and experiment with ORTH_SEL and ORTH_XY. We also look at MAPXYZ and do some housekeeping.
