When I was 9 years old, I became enamored with the doll franchise Monster High. Because I watched the webisodes on YouTube, I eventually would find people who’d make their own Monster High videos in the form of stop motions, comedy doll videos, and animated music videos (more commonly known as AMVs). The latter two of which I loved so much, that it made me want to make my own videos. My dad had this shitty old camera that he never used, so I’d record my computer screen to get clips of the Monster High webisodes and movies and slam them together in this editing reel called FlipShare Studio. When I turned 10, my aunt gave me her old laptop. It was pretty rough, I had to keep the charger plugged in if I wanted to keep it on, which means I was practically glued to my desk if I ever wanted to edit. I loved video editing so much, that I practically begged my parents to allow me to make a YouTube account. Because I wanted to share my videos with people! They eventually said yes. And so on July 28th 2012, I created this account and called it WCRfan126, named after a band that means a lot to my family.

That was 10 years ago on this day.

Ten years. It doesn’t feel real saying it out loud. To think this has been my hobby for that long. I remember in middle school and high school, just waiting to get home so I could continue working on a new video. I would sometimes RENDER a video in the early mornings before I had to go to school. For a while, it was just kind of me and my programs. No one I knew personally really watched my videos or took much interest in my editing. And then 2017 happened. I saw this video titled “The Traitor Within Us”, saying it was a roleplaying contest where you could enter in and interact with other players should you be accepted. I honestly had no idea what a RP was at the time, I just thought the video was cool because it reminded me of BBC’s Merlin, so I decided to join. And that decision would forever change my life. My mornings are now spent going through the hundreds of Discord notifications left by other editors in the community, people I looked up to and would’ve killed for any one of them to notice my work. Now, they are people I call my friends. Some of them my best friends. I’ve laughed with them, cried with them, fought with them, celebrated with them. I love them with every fiber of my being.

And then there’s all of you. My (almost) 6,000 subscribers. The people that tune in for every new upload, who leave me wonderful comments, who like and share and love my videos. I honestly don’t have the words to showcase how thankful I am to all of you. I make these videos for me, but seeing you all love and appreciate them as much as you do brings a smile to my face. The fact that I am able to make people happy or sad with my edits. It means more to me than I can ever truly know how to express!

So here we are! With this! A recap of a decade if you will. Much like the mashup songs I used, this video is all my greatest hits rolled into one. The first part is multifandom canon editing, where I use the shows and movies that inspired me in one way or another, so much so that they’ve appeared on this channel multiple times. The second part is my crossover videos, where each manip, whether they’re reused from the past year or remade specifically for this video, is from a crossover that’s somewhere on this channel. Honestly this felt like the proper way to celebrate, by covering almost everything that’s made me happy or inspired one way or another.
