Okay then, here's the first BIG event in BN4: the Den City Tournament. As y'all asked for, it will be covered in one massive episode. In this game, each tournament contains, essentially, 3 mini-chapters. These are completely randomized, by the way, so it might not look the same in your run through this game. Lemme give you a quick run-down of what I had to face this time:
Tetsu is a generic looking HeelNavi, which is something new to the series (prior to this, these lads just spawned viruses when starting a fight). His scenario is a survival battle, basically, you just go to Town3 and go one by one on each fight. Tetsu himself is no different from these fights, so... yeah.
GutsMan is the most important part of this tournament, and he will always be present in your bracket on the first run, for story reasons. He's really different from his BN3 iteration, now having a buster and a new attacks. His scenario though, what the heck. Apparently Chisao is an evil genius, because he was able to pretend being kidnapped just to stop Lan from attending the fight. It's just a fetch quest, follow the steps, fight a few enemies, and we are done.
Sooo, why is GutsMan always present you ask? Well, it's time to get the first 'Double Soul', or 'Soul Unison', as it's known in Japan. This is a substitute for the Style Change mechanic, and, honestly? It's really fun. These transformations only last for three turns and require the usage of a specific type of chip to start them up, however, they are insanely strong, and can lead to some really cool folders that exploit their capabilities. GutsSoul is a really good starting point, with a nice charge attack, a buff to Null-Type chips, and the typical Guts Machine Gun. We'll get more of these as the game goes on.
At last, there's TopMan. This is another 'fetch quest'-like chapter, following a series of tasks to... help our rival fix their Navi? Huh. Interesting tactic coming from our main protagonist. TopMan is probably the toughest fight we had so far. His small tops are a bit hard to dodge, but just focus on them, and try to guess where they'll go.
Anyway, make sure to lend me your support with likes, subscribe if you liked what you've seen and comment down there if you have anything to tell me. Without anything else to say, have a nice day!
