Quantitative Spectroscope
Spectroscopes are designed to separate light into a very wide spectrum of colors to make it easier to see.
This allows views to make quantitative comparisons of different light sources.
Photometer
An instrument that measures the strength of electromagnetic radiation in the range from ultraviolet to infrared and including the visible spectrum.
PAR Meter
A PAR meter is a device that measures light from the sun or artificial lights.
It is used to see if plants are receiving enough light for healthy growth and development.
Plants rely only on part of the spectrum, called PAR or Photosynthetically Active Radiation, which simply means the range of colors plants need to perform photosynthesis.
For PAR, it is defined as the 400-700nm (wavelength) part of the spectrum
Spectrophotometer
Spectrophotometry is a method to measure how much a chemical substance absorbs light by measuring the intensity of light as a beam of light passes through sample solution.
The basic principle is that each compound absorbs or transmits light over a certain range of wavelength.
