Vikas Narula, Co-Founder of Neighborhood Forest, found himself re-evaluating his life after years in the medical tech industry in the early 2000s. Then he remembered his experience planting a tree back in college, and he decided to start a non-profit planting trees with kids.
It grew slowly. He almost gave up in 2018, but his wife said, “Do it for the love.” Last year they gave 150,000 free trees to kids in almost every state and province in the US, Canada, Mexico and India.
Their growth tipping point came in 2021, when a librarian promoted them on Facebook.
