In 2022 Mathmech Circular was released and instantly transformed a mid archetype into competitively viable over night. It did so well, it spent some time on the ban list, and is still at 1 copy in the TCG to this day. Konami saw this success they stumbled onto accidently, and then thought to themselves, how can we do this again? And again?
