An event that's set to be an unforgettable listening experience, combining tradition and innovation — that's what awaits the nearly 1,600 guests expected to attend the grand reopening of the Beethovenhalle Bonn, including German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The Beethoven Orchestra Bonn will be conducted by its General Music Director Dirk Kaftan.
The program includes Beethoven's Overture to the Ballet "The Creatures of Prometheus" in C Major, Op. 43, the Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major, Op. 58 with pianist Fabian Müller as soloist, and "Everything, always" by Sara Glojnarić. The concert will be rounded off by Gustav Mahler's monumental Symphony No. 2 in C minor "Resurrection" with Katerina von Bennigsen (soprano), Gerhild Romberger (alto), Cameron Carpenter on the refurbished Klais organ, and the German National Youth Choir. "You will rise again, yes, you will rise again in an instant, my heart" is the symphony's message — fitting for the evening.

The concert marks the return of the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn (BOB) to its historic venue after 9.5 years of extensive renovation in accordance with historic preservation guidelines. It marks the beginning of a new musical era for the Beethoven Orchestra and the Beethoven's home city, Bonn.
