Music plays a crucial role in setting the tone and enhancing the emotions of a film. Composing a film score requires a deep understanding of the narrative, characters, and visual elements to create a seamless musical experience. James Mountain shares how the opportunity to work with a live ensemble drew him to study at AFTRS, how collaborating with his cohort on creating original content was essential in his journey and his advice to future students on making the most of their time at AFTRS.
