MUMLIFE is a capstone project of the Master of Arts Screen program at the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS). It will have its world premiere in competition in the La Cinef program at the Festival de Cannes in May 2022.

Sarah is a first-time new mum with a gorgeous baby, a caring husband and fun-loving friends. But beneath her smiles, she is having a really hard day. Through song dreamworlds, we discover that she’s struggling to navigate post-partum life. MUMLIFE is a sensational short film exploring the emotional hardships associated with new motherhood and uses five original indie/pop musical numbers to delve into these feelings. Set across the day of Sarah’s 30th birthday, her fabulously gay best friend, Derek, a social media make-up influencer, arrives to glam her up for a ‘small' family gathering. Already feeling overwhelmed by her parents' group, Sarah is pushed to the edge when she arrives to discover a large surprise party.
