I'm making some progress with the refit of my soft-sided Curtis Cab on my Massey Ferguson GC2300 Awesome tractor.
In this video I remove a lot of the parts and pieces on the cab frame and scrape and sand the rust spots. There sure was a lot of them. But the cab is almost 20 years old so I guess I shouldn't surprised.
After some prep work, I use the Rust Converter and totally paint the whole cab frame. I decided that using the Rust Converter as a primer might be a good idea. It'll deal with the rust spots and be a primer for the black gloss finish coat I'll apply.
Then I make 4 additional backer plates for the door hinges. I hope this will help with getting the doors aligned and make them close better.
Then I paint the cab frame with Armour Coat oil based black gloss paint. It turned out pretty good if I do say so. What do you think?
This brings us to the end of Part 2 and in Part 3 I hope to get the cab soft sided panels cleaned up. Do some work on the door panels and get the roof back on. I hope you can come back for that part!
