One of the assignments you can complete on Feros to ensure the survival of Zhu’s Hope colony requires you to find some power cells in the Feros tunnels. In this video you can find the walkthrough for that mission.

There is one more things to say about the assignment but I didn’t want to include spoilers of the main quest on the planet. To make things short you can either complete the assignment before completing the main mission on Feros or after you completed it.
However depending on how certain events from main mission evolve it’s possible certain NPC in Zhu’s Hope won’t be available; even though it’s not very difficult to ensure everyone will be available. It’s actually a “side objective” of the main mission.
