(In the video, my final split was 5 seconds late. You're supposed to split when you get the last out in the Bowser match- 2:33:46 is the correct time.)
An overall not-bad run that held the world record for... a single day. Ah well! This run is not my finest work but I think represents a solid 1st attempt at this category. I'll be improving it not-too-long into the future.
What went well:
Most goals, including every character-specific goal, were on time
Every non-Toy Field minigame was first try
Most mandatory matches including Bowser were first try
Secured Magikoopa MVP (one of the toughest goals) safely
What went wrong:
BIGGEST MISTAKE: I still needed Wario Star Swing/Pitch & Win and Boo Shutout at the end of the first 5 games, meaning I absolutely had to do a sixth game before Bowser
Didn't have King Boo Team Star or Magikoopa Magical Catch Big Play on time for Bowser, either
Lost TWO potential Boo Shutouts in late innings of the Peach and DK matches
Could not get King Boo's Team Star until 6th Inning of Bowser
What went alright but could have gone better:
No Mercy Rules in this run, with a few potential ones that went sour due to lost shutouts or incomplete challenges
Several important goals (Petey 5 Catches, Waluigi Laser Beam) were salvaged from failed shutouts but should have been prioritized and earned earlier in the run
Toy Field 200 Coins was third try (which is not bad! but not good)
Birdo hit a Home Run in the first inning of my Yoshi game, ruining a Waluigi Shutout. I gave up/retried and got the shutout on my second try, but lost about 5 minutes
I have a much better idea of which goals should be done when- pretty much every problematic goal can (and should) be moved to the first Mario match, which you are actually *not allowed* to win via Mercy Rule. That means hitting, fielding, and Team Star chances galore! I'll get that 6-game finish soon. But on to another captain for now.
