Well, shoot. This was a wonderful, wonderful run that went better than I could ever ask for... right up until I reached the match against Wario. At that point literally my only goals were Monty Mole Team Star, Mario Big Play, Luigi Shutout and Luigi MVP in Last Game. The latter two are, from the get-go, scheduled for Bowser and were nothing to worry about. It's a strategic blunder to take either of the other two goals into Bowser so I extended Wario over and over until I at least got Mario Big Play... it's pretty obvious that I could have murdered Wario in the 1st inning if I wasn't constrained by those damned goals.
I knew I couldn't keep extending Wario forever so I ended the match and planned how to get Monty Mole Team Star in the same Bowser match in which Luigi pitches a shutout. That planning took place while I played CCS, WB, and Toy Field. What I came up with it basically the only Team Star "manip" you can do... put Monty 2nd in your lineup, waste a star and an out, then pray. I got it third try, losing (by my timing) 1:55. I missed world record overall by 2:13- and believe me, if I was on pace for WR I would have played a riskier Bowser to try and save those 18 seconds (if I hadn't already saved them during Wario to begin with!)
I comment on this at the end of the video: I have a new approach for Monty Mole Team Star that should do a better job securing the goal without messing up my pitching goals much or at all. As for Mario Big Play, I really don't think I can do much better than Mario on SS/2B throwing to a chemistry fielder (Yoshi or Peach) on 1st after sliding catching a fair ball... so it'll just depend on the computers hitting a dribbler to Mario is it always does. I hope I get luckier next time. Sigh.
At the very least, I have PROVEN that I can do this and I think I'm close to making it fully happen! :)
