Stream viewer sillyagain challenged to complete a very interesting challenge - complete Mario Party 3 without losing any coins. I took this idea and formulated these rules:
Battle Royale boards only because Duel Mode involves losing coins literally every turn, and that's silly. All rules equivalent to Story Mode: 15 Turns, Bonus Stars on, etc.
If I LOSE coins for any reason, I must restart my turn or the board. (Not allowing turn resets would be ****ing insane.)
Losing coins means (1) landing on a red space, (2) suffering the effects of Bowser or Chance Time if they result in coin loss, (3) losing a Game Guy or Duel minigame, (4) getting run over by an opponent using a Bowser Suit, (5) having my coins stolen by Boo, (6) leaving a Battle Minigame with fewer coins than I had when I entered it, (7) depositing coins in the Koopa Bank, and (8) suffering from the effects of board features that result in coin loss like the dynamite on Waluigi Island.
These things are NOT losing coins: buying a Star, buying an item, paying to use a board feature like the large Mr. Blizzard in Chilly Waters, and paying Boo's fee for his services. Those things are SPENDING coins, not losing them.
Note: I do take advantage of "cosmic rays" to expedite the process of getting past Turn 1 of boards that have Bank Spaces right at the start, but I ultimately did not end up using them on anything else (I conceded my first attempt at Creepy Cavern partway through).
