If you were anything like me, you loved playing Mario sports games growing up. Mario sports games were among the best sports party games out there and Nintendo fans could always rely on several high quality Mario sports games during every console generation. But somewhere along the line, things changed. In recent years, Mario sports games have become a shell of themselves. The characteristics that defined the spin-off series have been sucked dry. With modern Mario sports games now offering the bare minimum amount of content and fun they can get away with, I’m left wondering what went wrong?
