This trick combined with Rampaging Wiggler Skip (http://youtu.be/GqTK9ZjCl7E) and Walk Through Walls Glitch (http://youtu.be/Fwp6hyTQBPs) allow us to skip most of the game: we can go directly from Twinsy Tropics to the King Bob-Omb fight. This means that we only ever rescue 50 Toads (18%), and we never get Trio Drill or Trio Plane conventionally! Beating King Bob-Omb will just give you all the Trio Attacks even if you skipped them.
With the new Any% route that uses Trio Grab Skip (youtu.be/3Qe2fDtDRRY) this trick is still used, but it has to be done without Trio Grab, which is a lot more difficult. We also only get 28 Toads (10%).
This trick is fairly simple to do. Run into the corner, and switch between up-left and up-right until you clip into the wall. You can go into Trio Grab before or after.
I found this version of getting to the tunnel early first, so using this trick was the fastest way to complete the game for about an hour, and this trick also prompted me to mess with that wall and find the other version. Then on 21/01/16, this version became the useful version again, because doing Rampaging Wiggler Skip makes the extra platforms appear.
After entering the tunnel, I show off a really easy skip you can do using Trio Plane, which saves around 30 seconds or so. Edit: not useful for Any% anymore since we don't have Trio Plane.
