So many cool things to share as I drop this video!!! You might have noticed "Nico64 Band" in the title of the video-which means we are officially going to be playing live and in person together at VGMCon in Minneapolis in just a few weeks! In honor of getting the opportunity to showcase my own band at a con for the first time, I decided to make a home studio version of one of our charts!
I first heard this version in Mario Kart World doing free roam collecting peach coins, and I went, wait, they made this whole banger arrangement to just play in the background?? It grew on me so much I HAD to include it in my setlist for my premiere show! To top it off, this video release just happens to coincide with the new Mario Galaxy Movie coming out in just a few days!! What time better than now to revisit such a banger tune.
That all being said, this project had to come together rather quickly, and my wonderful band agreeing to record and send everything over while they're all at their busiest really shows how lucky I am to have such a reliable and killer team willing to make great music together. I can't wait to play it live together and I hope you get to see us if you happen to be going to VGMCon!
