Here is the sixth tune we played from my set at VGMCon 2026!
I actually heard this song first in Persona 3 Reload, exploring in tartarus. I had the DLC and put the dungeon music on shuffle, to give myself more variety with the music not just being the mostly repetitive theme for exploring so many floors. This song came on, and I was like, omg what is this?? The standout song while having no context said a lot, and after playing P4 later on and knowing the context, I was shocked they even included such a heavy song in DLC background music for P3R.
Moments later, I stumbled across the same song in P4: Dancing All Night, the Norihiko Hibino remix. I later found out he was not only the composer for Snake Eater from Metal Gear Solid 3, but also a Berklee Alumni (s/o!)
I loved his vibey but groovy remix, and I couldn't help but picture my band playing the same version live, but I also was pretty tied on playing the original version too. So, of course I had to blend the two and use the dancing remix for the solo section out.
Having Lacey Johnson sing with us was also such a treat. I love her Persona covers on her channel, and her infectious energy when she performs live is such a vibe. Not to mention her voice just fits this style so seamlessly.
