"Atoll Road" is the Manta-ray-shaped third course of the relatively easy Mushroom Cup, in my imaginary "Mario Kart NX" game. An atoll is a small island of sandbanks with ocean in the centre.

Risky drivers can skim across the water surface with the all-new Water-Ski functionality, so long as you can dodge the manta-rays and tricky currents... otherwise your engine will falter and you'll waste time sinking to the bottom.

If driving underwater, the Baby Unagi eels will slow you down unless you shake the controller at just the right time to earn an electric speed boost. But watch out for Mother Unagi! Also, if you nab the new Torpedo Ted item, you can fire down your opponents better than using shells.

And near the finishing line there's a stretch of sandbank under which you can drive upside down for some last-minute anti-gravity boosts!
