HEBI Robotics is introducing MAPS, the Modular Absolute Positioning System, that enables rich full-coverage NDT inspections on surfaces of any geometry.
As you scan, MAPS measures the full position and orientation of a probe and uses this information to fill in a gridded 2D C-Scan that is mapped onto the full 3D surface.
MAPS provides a rich set of tools to build a 3D corrosion map on an iPad. It can also be used in conjunction with an external flaw detector to build a traditional corrosion map. MAPS can integrate with any system that takes encoder inputs. Examples are systems from Olympus, Zetec, and EddyFi.
