Since this video was posted it has been reported on both the BBC news channel and Sky news that the gunman was tasered during the standoff.
I wonder who could have tasered him?

Last night the gunman was finally found and a six hour standoff ensued
If anyone is in any doubt why the police in the UK do not carry firearms this picture should finally put those doubts to rest
There is probably a very good reason why this guy was given the bright yellow plastic taser.
I'm guessing from the expression on his face that had he been given a real gun he would have probably laid waste to all around him.
A point of note is that he probably has the word "police" written on his helmet so that the police marksmen with the real guns can tell which homicidal maniacs are in their side.
I don't know if I should feel safer or just plain terrified
