On this #WatermelonBabyWednesday, we’re taking a moment to appreciate the incredible prehensile trunk of our female Malayan tapir calf, ‘Nyawa’! 😍

The upper lip and nose of a tapir are elongated to form a prehensile snout. 👃👄 This allows tapirs to grip and grab food. It’s the perfect way for Nyawa to scoop delicious hay into her mouth as she eats alongside mom ‘Sempurna’! 😋
