If you can throw a pair of matching bowls, you can make surprisingly large pottery with the addition of a rolled slab of clay. I used 4" and 8" round tube forms to wrap slabs of clay, and with the addition of wheel thrown ends, made several large vessels.

This is the first time I have tried this. The biggest tip I can offer is to wrap your forms in newspaper. Make sure to not tape the newspaper to the tube, for easy removal.
