I really enjoy using hand made pottery. Better still is serving friends and family food in something you made. In this video I show you how I throw, trim and glaze a set of four small lidded casserole dishes.
I think they look great on a plate, but they have the added benefit of staying warm for a long time, which means they work great for a dinner served in courses.
The clay is Laguna B-Mix 5 which is oven safe. I think most non-porous clay bodies should be fine in the oven, but you might want to check with your clay supplier about your clay, or bake on a cookie sheet just in case. The decoration is a brown clay I dug from my back yard, for that extra personal touch. :)
